Moundsville toy collector hosts stars of 'American Pickers'
MOUNDSVILLE - When he heard the History Channel's "American Pickers" show was coming to the Mountain State, Francis Turner figured inviting them to check out his impressive collection of Marx toys would be good publicity. Turner, who ran the Marx Toy Museum in Moundsville for 16 years before it closed in June 2016, said the story of their visit hit newspapers across the country, "Facebook is humming, and I think the name 'Marx' has been said more in the last week than it had been over the last two years. "In 1955, Louie Marx was on the cover of Time Magazine and he got the title 'Toy King.'
